Valentine's Day Recap

Share
Valentine's Day was totally awesome, I had a great time with my sweetie. He surprised me with chocolates, a big teddy bear and a dozen roses. Stephen and I went to Tater Tot's birthday party and hung out for a few hours in the afternoon. After that, we got ready and then went to the Emerald, in Irish restaurant in South Austin. It was well staffed and some other young cute couples who looked like they were going to hit the cakes afterward were enjoying their meals. Other weekend festivities included making chicken tacos together, watching Blazing Saddles, finishing off our bottle of leftover wine from Valentine's Day, and listing stuff on ebay. I've been washing Barbie dolls from the 70's and 80's, digging out Superstar disco dresses for them, and putting them up for auction. It's fun. Baby cat is biting me in the arm, so I'd better wrap this up.

Saturday the 7th

Really, it's been no different than most Saturdays... Stephen and I mailed some packages then had some Mexican food for lunch. He went to work and now I'm cropping ebay photos. I have an auction for a weird Barbie from Mexico going for $355 which makes me happy. I need to list a lot today to make up for 2 days of falling a little under my goals.

I'm doing laundry and feeding the kitties. This month is a tough one in terms of catching up so I'm trying to work one of my 2 days off each week. The garage is cleaner now that a truck load of board games got dumped off, but now there's a water leak to fix before I go refilling the garage with more inventory. Honestly, I can't wait for next month with SXSW coming up. I'm just saving my money and energy for that and Modest Mouse at Stubb's in March.

Stephen got Valentine's Day off, which is exciting. We are going to an old favorite restaurant of ours. Time flies because our one year anniversary is coming up soon.

Do you ever go out to dinner (at a sit-down restaurant) by yourself?

No, I need my mommy and daddy to hold my hand and walk me wherever I go. LOL

Best self-date: took myself to a super sweet German restaurant in Portland, Oregon, then conference called a friend and we had dinner "together" - even though he was in Indiana.

Titillatiing Tuesday

Share
I had to call this entry titillating, because my friend Heather always says that and it makes me laugh. Heather and I are supposed to have lunch today. I'm lucky to have a friend named Heather who has been a great friend to me for 9 years now. We've done lots of fun things, we drove to Tulsa once in the summer in my old Toyota with no A/C, lol. We stayed in a fancy suite in Michigan a few years ago for a Barbie convention. I threw a party and execs from Kay Bee, Integrity Toys and Mattel showed up. It was fun, and funny at the same time. Barbie doll collectors are so crazy. Heather has a son now named Alex, and he is great. I really love him, and it's fun watching him grow up. His third birthday is coming up soon. Time really flies as you get older.

Ebay ran my charge on the wrong day (again) for the third month in a row. I think I scraped up enough to cover it, but you would think they could stick to the same time frame to run my fees each month. They are just making it harder and harder to think of Ebay as a viable full time job. I have been trying to stick to my work goals, but I'm not out of the hole yet. Hopefully soon...

Saturday shuffle

This week hasn't been too bad. I've been playing catch up after taking a couple of days off and hanging out with Stephen. I put an Igor Pantuhoff painting on ebay, hope it does well.

I got up a little earlier than usual today, figured out a consignment customer's invoice and listed a Reisler devil troll on ebay. As soon as Stephen wakes up, we're going to get some lunch. I'm going to really hustle on ebay later today and tomorrow. I have tons of bills due and am hoping to get Modest Mouse tickets on Tuesday if I can.

The Coachella lineup came out and I wasn't too impressed. About 20% of the bands I had seen before. Several of the bands are coming to Austin in the near future. I'll save my money, time and energy for SXSW.

I'm listing stuff on ebay and would consider selling this painting if I could figure out who painted it. Any ideas?

Sleepy Sunday

Share
It's been a sleepy Sunday so far. I'm struggling to stay awake. I want to wake up so I can list a pile of weird trolls from the 1960's on ebay. The cats have been so silly today. Baby cat was sitting in this doll couch in the bedroom and chasing the tip of her tail. I should have taken a pic.

The cats are hungry so I guess I'll make this a short one. I think tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I hope I can catch up more by the end of the week.

the long and winding road

Stephen had the last two days off, so I got to spend some time with him which was great. He fixed my starter, so my car works now, yay! I'm working on today's ebay pile and it's back to another 5 days of work for Stephen at his job and for me from home. I met my goals last week, but really need to meet them this week to continue getting out of the hole. I saw the business news and it wasn't that great, but I won't let it get me down. So far there's a 1966 straight leg Francie and a 1969 flip Twist 'n Turn Barbie in today's pile.

I got some work done on my mother's estate, hopefully I can get some more done before January ends.

I still can't find my paint set. I don't know where it's disappeared to.

I want more than ever to level off my bills and declutter my home. I truly believe it is the key to happiness. I'm going to close my antique mall booth soon. It only breaks even at best. I guess you can't succeed unless you try, but I'm going for a more minimalist approach this time around. Too much responsibility has made me tired.

Good for a Monday

Share
Today hasn't been so bad for a Monday. Tomorrow should be hectic since I need to mail a lot of packages.

Guess what? Stephen got me a Snuggie! A royal blue one. Bootsie stole it, but as soon as he wakes up I'm going to put it on and bust out the book light it came with and read some Archie comics.

I already met my listing goals for the day, so I'm going to look for mis-listed items on ebay going cheap and listen to some Men Without Hats. Stephen has the next two days off, maybe we'll go roller skating tomorrow. We haven't gone in a few weeks. I've been lazy.

I'm looking forward to rocking matching Snuggies with Stephen tonight.

Hi, I'm trying to clean out my office of cool things that have been sitting around here for too long. I listed them on ebay starting really cheap. I just want to make them go away, I'm trying to clean my house. There's all sorts of things ranging from Popples to earrings.

Here's the link to my ebay store:

I can't wait to make room for new finds from the upcoming spring garage and estate sales. If you are looking for anything special, no matter how weird, let me know. Maybe I can help!
